Netflix x Alton

Thank you to my amazing BFF for telling me about this and thank you to my amazing boyfriend for standing out in the freezing cold with me while I took these photos! Netflix picked six cities across the U.S. to decorate their towns. The decorations included beautiful lights, wreaths, and signs that promote Nextflix shows like Jingle Jangle, Alien Xmas, Dash & Lily, Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square, and Christmas Chronicles 2. Netflix also spread their holiday cheer to Augusta, Georgia; Vallejo, California; Stoudsburg, Pennsylvania; Natchez, Mississippi and Norman, Oklahoma. I have to admit that I haven’t seen any of these Netflix shows, but I would like to check a few of them out if I can find a free day or two. Have you seen any of these shows? If you have, feel free to comment below!

The Netflix decorations were a beautiful addition to Alton, Illinois. As the sign as you enter the street says, Netflix is Here for the Holidays! I had a great time photographing the decorations, despite it being a very cold and windy 19 degrees outside! The wind was blowing so hard that there were times I thought I was going to fall over. I could not feel my hands or face by the time I was done.

I’ve always loved Alton. The haunted history used to freak me out, but I’m used to it by now. My BFF and I had a few interesting moments at McPike Mansion and the Mineral Springs Hotel, and I hope that we can go back one day. Merry Christmas Eve to all!
